JetBlue to Expand SAF Use

August 26, 2021 — JetBlue and World Fuel Services have reached an agreement for sustainable aviation fuel (SAF) at Los Angeles International Airport (LAX). This agreement will include 1.5 million gallons of blended SAF annually for a minimum of 3 years. This will be around 5% of JetBlue’s fuel at LAX. JetBlue views SAF as a promising way to rapidly reduce aviation emissions and further their net-zero goals. Last year, JetBlue achieved carbon neutrality on all domestic flights, primarily through carbon offsets while the SAF industry is still expanding.
