Rolls-Royce and Shell Collaborate in SAF Push

July 20, 2021 — Rolls-Royce and Shell have announced a partnership to develop a sustainable aviation fuel (SAF) that aligns with both companies’ net-zero plans. Rolls-Royce plans to make all commercial aviation engines capable of operating with 100% SAF. As several companies are striving to increase their usage, the industry’s supply of SAF must also increase. Shell plans to fill some of that space in the market with the upcoming development of their SAF in partnership with Rolls-Royce. Details have not been announced, but more information is expected in the coming months.
