May 4, 2021 — Neste has announced a plan to modify its existing renewable fuel production slate in the Netherlands to enable production of sustainable aviation fuel (SAF). Currently, the refinery in Rotterdam produces Neste MY Renewable Diesel. With the modifications, Neste expects to be able to produce 500,000 tons of SAF annually, a significant increase from their current SAF pruction level of 100,000 tons. Along with Neste’s ongoing Singapore refinery expansion, Neste is expecting to have the capacity to produce 1.5 million tons of SAF by the end of 2023.
