IATA’s Director, Aviation Environment Addresses Attempts to Discredit CORSIA and SAF
   

October 11, 2019 – Ahead of the 40th triennial International Civil Aviation Organization (ICAO) Assembly last month, Michael Gill, the International Air Transportation Association’s (IATA) Director, Aviation Environment set the record straight regarding published misinformation on the effectiveness of CORSIA and the environmental credentials of sustainable aviation fuels (SAF). In particular, he addresses the notion that palm oil is the primary feedstock for SAF and increased production of SAF will exacerbate the issues associated with palm oil, such as deforestation.
