18 July 2019 – Total has begun biofuel production at their facility in southeastern France. The project to convert a former oil refinery into a biorefinery that can process all types of oil started in 2015. The biorefinery has the capacity to produce 500,000 tonnes of biofuel per year. The facility will produce both biodiesel and alternative jet fuel for the aviation industry. The fuel will be sourced from sustainable vegetable oils and treated waste streams.
